Partner Description

The working group "Mine Surveying and Geoinformation" at Clausthal University of Technology uses surveying and Remote Sensing techniques including Geoinformation Systems (GIS) to monitor changes of the earth surface and develops data processing and adjustment methods. The research focus is on the determination, documentation and modeling of environmental impacts of active and abandoned mining. The group has expertise in interferometric processing of satellite SAR and terrestrial radar data, for mining induced deformation monitoring and statistical, spatial-temporal analyses of deformation data as well as for documentation and 3D reconstruction of large-scale subsurface cavities.
